The Healthcare industry is in the midst of a (big) data revolution. Payers and providers have digitized their patient records. Pharmaceuticals have been creating and aggregating massive amount of R&D data. Government and regulators have been opening vast amount of healthcare data to the public. Lastly, we are surrounded by sensors that are collecting data about us at a staggering rate. In this talk, we explore the idea of using this explosion of data to answer hard healthcare questions. How can we use data to lower the cost of care, improve population health and increase patient satisfaction?
